I don't know if the neutering is a factor or not, but I suspect not.

You're correct to look at the source, which is of course diet. Purina is not a very good brand and if you get a kitty with a sensitive system, that really shows!

All you really need to do is feed a better food. You don't need to feed a kitten food any longer. You can switch just this kitten or all of them.

What I recommend is a good quality canned food, because that is much healthier for cats. But if you want to try a better dry food first instead, I recommend Innova Evo, Wellness Core or Nature's Variety Instincts. These three are grainless and will likely agree more with your kitten.

If you see the What to feed link, you can get links to the websites for these foods (even though the link is all about canned foods).

It's probably not the food you are feeding it because Purina is a very good cat food. Try some Fresh Step Crystals Scoop litter. It is really good at deoderising the urine, and smells fresh! Also try some Arm & Hammer litter box deoderiser. It is available at walmart, along with the Fresh Step Crystals. It really isn't related to them not being neutered. iN fact, it isn't related to that at all! It's a common problem, so try not to worry about it too much. Hope this helps!

yes change your cat food to Royal Canin, it is the best!!! they poop less and have less smell, Purina and Meow Mix and alot of those store bought brands, are just like you and I eating McDonald's and Chili, Potato chips, and candy, every day, It doesn't make for a very good poop nor is it good for us,
I put my cats and dogs on Royal Canin, they have no gas there poop is not so offensive and they love it, it even smells good,
EDIT..... Stinky poop has nothing to do with them not being neutered, but I would get that done asap, before they start spraying your house, and then you want to talk about STINK!!!! OMG, and you cant get rid of the stench
