A new baby kitten?

kitten
Toto asked:

Okay…Someone that I know of, is giving out kittens. And the person said that I could have one ,too. I’d LOVE(lovelovelove) to have one, because I love animals and I’ve always wanted a kitten. So, I asked my parents about the situation, that if I could keep a kitten. And they said ‘of course!!’. BUT they told me I had to have 100 % responsibilities for the kitten. SO…I kind of thought about it.

I graduated middle school and I’m going to high school now. And high school is hard and important. All the grades are going to count for college, more work and more effort.
If I had 100% responsibilities for the kitten, I don’t know if i could keep that promise because of my work and studies. I don’t know if I will be there for the kitten if the kitten needs me. Plus I have never raised a kitten before so I don’t know excally what to do. And my mom said, “Raising a kitten is like taking care a baby.”

As a result, I don’t know if I should raise a kitten or not.

Kitten playing up?

kitten
Nightfairy asked:

I bought a kitten a month ago and separated her from the resident cat, in a week they got along and constantly play. last night I heard growling and saw that the 11wk old kitten was growling at our resident cat. We separated them and tried again in the morning, the resident cat walked up to the kitten and rolled over on her back in front of her but the kitten still arched her back. I’m unable to explain why this is happening as they slept together and so far the resident cat is still trying to play with the kitten but the kittens hissing and arching her back. As I type this the kitten has been put into the spare room and the resident is sitting at the door meowing. If anyone has any ideas or has gone through this I’d love to hear from you. Thanks.
Thanks for all your answers guys… Just for the person who asked me the few questions, the resident cat is roughly 3yrs old and persian x and about 25cm tall (from ground to top of back). The resident cat has been quite patient but they may be because she used to live with other cats with her previous owner and had kittens also. I’m just hoping the patience lasts though and she doesnt decide to retaliate. So far its been quite good… Thanks again

Troubled Kitten?

kitten
Carrie asked:

Last week I decided to foster 4 5-6 week old kittens from the local SPCA, they had asked me because I volunteer there a lot, and I just couldn’t say no. So I brought them home last Wednesday. Everything seemed fine. Everyone ate well (Actrium canned kitten food) and everyone drank their water, they were active and loved to play. That night however, one kitten threw up, I called the shelter and they told me that the kittens had probably either ate too much, or they aren’t used to the food. So I was settled. Then, last night the smallest kitten, a little female tabby with some calico blotches, threw up all over the living room. These are small kittens, and she threw up a lot. Then he’s the problem, this morning I took her and her brother to a seperate room where I feed them to eat first, because the other two kittens in the litter are larger and usually eat all the food. The little female wouldn’t eat, she was too interested in me. She is very small, I’m concerned. She has to be hungry!
